About us
What Portos Eunostos is
Portos Eunostos is an editorial project by Keidea s.r.l. covering home appliances, household energy use and maintenance. We publish guides, comparisons between real models and analyses of public data with one stated goal, which is also our promise: understand before you buy.
Portos Eunostos is not a shop. It does not sell appliances, does not process orders, does not take payments and has no cart. Our pages do contain links to online shops and price comparison sites: the relationship we have with those sites is disclosed below, in plain words.
The project is owned by Keidea s.r.l., registered office at Via Fratelli Cervi 42, 75014 Grassano (MT), Italy, VAT 01414110773, as stated in the site privacy policy.
How we work
We have given ourselves one rule: a number without a source does not get published. That is why one of our comparisons takes longer to write than a generic review, and why a reader can redo our arithmetic.
The sources we actually use, in order of priority:
EU product information sheets. This is the document manufacturers are legally required to fill in. It lists energy use, classes, capacity, noise and, line by line, the figures a retailer is not obliged to show. Almost every comparison we publish starts here.
The EPREL registry. The European database of energy labels: it lets us verify that a model really exists with the stated characteristics and, when needed, reason about whole sets of products rather than one isolated model.
Manufacturer instruction manuals and technical data sheets. For use and maintenance instructions we quote the manual, not common practice: if the manual and the manufacturer's website disagree, we say so.
Regulations and directives on EUR-Lex. When an obligation changes we read the legal text and give the regulation number, not somebody else's summary.
Official spare parts price lists. They are what allows us to say what a repair actually costs, with the part number next to the price.
ARERA rulings and tariffs. The price per kilowatt hour used in all our running cost calculations is the one published by the Italian regulator, with the reference quarter stated.
Three practical consequences follow, and we treat them as commitments:
We date our data. When a percentage comes from an extraction of a public registry, we state on the page when the extraction was made and how many models it covered. Registries grow every week: without the date, a number cannot be checked.
We date our prices. A price we quote is the price read on the stated date, at that shop. It is not a promise about next week.
We correct on the page. If a published figure turns out to be wrong or outdated we fix the article and say what was corrected and when, instead of quietly rewriting history.
What we do not do, said just as plainly: we do not test appliances in a laboratory and we do not present ourselves as a testing institute; we do not publish best in the world rankings, because the right choice depends on how many people live in your home, how much space you have and how often you run the machine; and we do not publish content paid for by a manufacturer or a retailer dressed up as an article.
The role of artificial intelligence, and who is accountable for verification
Articles on Portos Eunostos carry the byline of Samantah Greco, the virtual editorial signature of our newsroom. Content is produced through artificial intelligence systems supervised by the Portos editorial team: they analyse technical documentation, official manufacturer sources and verifiable data, and turn them into guides, comparisons and in depth pieces. We have always stated this on the byline page and we repeat it here, because a reader is entitled to know how what they are reading came to be.
That supervision, however, is not anonymous. Marco Artese, CEO of Keidea s.r.l., is accountable for the verification of the data published on this site: he is the person who signs off on sources before publication, and the person to write to for a correction or to challenge a figure.
Disclosed commercial relationships
Two sites appear regularly as links in our articles:
opportunitycommerce.com, an online appliance and furniture shop operated by Opportunity Commerce s.r.l., VAT 12139570969;
sniffaprezzi.it, a price comparison site, VAT 03335920603.
Both Opportunity Commerce s.r.l. and Sniffaprezzi are clients of Keidea s.r.l., the company that runs this editorial project. That is why their sites appear among the links in our articles, and we write it here because a reader is entitled to know where a link comes from before clicking it.
Two things hold regardless of any link: the technical data we publish comes from the manufacturer's official documentation and not from a retailer's product page, and an article never originates from a retailer asking us to write about a product.
Contact
One address, and the editorial team answers it: info@portoseunostos.com.
For newsrooms, journalists and researchers. If you want to cite one of our figures, ask about the methodology behind a calculation or receive the detail of an extraction, write to that address and tell us which page. We reply with the primary source, the date of collection and, where possible, the calculation redone.
For readers. Tips, topic suggestions and questions about our content reach us at the same address.
Orders are not us. Portos Eunostos sells and ships nothing: for help with a purchase, a delivery or a return, contact the shop you bought from.
Corrections. If you find a wrong figure, write to us with the page and the source that says otherwise. If you are right we fix the article and state it on the page. That holds even when the mistake is ours and costs us a conclusion we had reached.
